Springfield, Illinois

Finally a hotel with a computer!!!

Today we rode 108 miles from Quincy, Il to Springfield. The area reminds me so much of Johnson County riding. The only exception is that the roads are better here. We rode through miles and miles of corn. It is high enough here to be a wind break. BUT...................... the wind was not our friend today. Yes, it was a headwind. Oh well. I had a blast heading down the road on my aero bars through the corn.

I can hardly believe that Friday I will be home for one night. My dream of riding across the country is coming true. I am so very, very happy. Each day has been a challenge in one way or another. I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

Thanks for all your comments and hope to see some of you on Friday!

Stats for today:
108 miles
7:17 time
32.7 max
14.9 average
