Another sprinkle of sand later, Mom's back home (almost)! She rode 80 miles from Champaign to Crawfordsville yesterday, taking the time to slow down a bit and enjoy the many small towns along the way. Lunch was a grilled cheese sandwich and sugar cream pie at the Bus Stop restaurant in Veedersburg. Yesterday was also helmet decorating contest day, which provided many laughs for passersby and those the riders met along the route. Since Mom has been munching her way across the country, she used plastic fruit that she tied on with ribbon. Joanna was a pretty princess in her tiara! They didn't mind the laughter, but Mom dismantled her creation upon reaching Crawfordsville. Hopefully we'll be able to post some photos of them later. Next stop: home! Mom will be met by Dan and some of their friends who will ride along with her into town. Doris will be anxiously awaiting Mom's arrival, but surely confused when she leaves again! Two more weeks to Boston...

Enjoy your ride in Indiana. I'm planning to get back on the bike after surgery when I'm in Indiana in a couple weeks. I figure the flat terrain will be a good start. Enjoy the flats for a couple states because VA and PA are no picnic, but what are you worried about! Good luck!
