Today was supposed to be a tough day of climbing with over 5000 feet of elevation gain. I don't want to sound like I am bragging but my legs are so strong now that I had absolutely no problems today. The 7 mile climb and the steeper 2.5 mile climb were not bad at all. Being lighter than some of the others is to my advantage going up but not on the descents. We had some terrific descents today that made me grin from ear to ear. They were the kind that I could see where we were going. Not the switchback kinds like out west. I held off the brakes on most of the descents but wanted to be careful not to wreck this close to the end of the tour. It was a fun, fun ride. I really enjoyed it. Part of the route was through wooded areas with a small river flowing over large stones. It was so peaceful and cool through there. A large deer came out of the woods, looked at me and then ran across the road right in front of me. I could only say "WOW."
We crossed into Vermont today and I sprinkled my sand!
Once again, thank you to everyone for all their support and good wishes. I felt them the whole way!

Almost done my friend! I know after so many days of intense, physical activity it will be hard to say goodbye and come home... but remember - "There's No Place Like Home!"
You have been missed and I can't wait to get out on the road w/ you! Although you will really kick my butt now!!!!
Safe travels!
